Mrs Esther Vamanuka Kanaimba-Senai assumed the leadership of Women in Mining Botswana Organisation (WiMBO), in November 2022.

WiMBO is an advocacy body for the promotion and empowerment of women employed in mining, women doing business with mines and women mine owners. Esther possesses more than four decades of expert knowledge and best practice in corporate and strategic communications, corporate social responsibility, public administration and management, leadership and talent management.

Esther trained as a journalist at the Tanzania School of Journalism, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and later acquired a Master of Journalism degree at Carleton University School of Journalism in Ottawa, Canada as a Commonwealth Scholar and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Botswana.

She has worked for several organisations among them the SADC Secretariat and Debswana Diamond Company. Esther sits on several boards among them the SOS Children’s Villages Botswana Board of Trustees and the Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited Trust.
